Qualiplast Staff Contribute to 37 Military Hospital Blood Bank
Accra, September 23, 2023 – Qualiplast Ghana Limited, a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging products, demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by organizing a blood donation drive in partnership with the 37 Military Hospital over the weekend. This initiative was part of Qualiplast’s ongoing 50th-anniversary celebration, which aims to make a positive impact on the communities where the company operates.
The General Manager of Qualiplast, Mr. Joseph Akl emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and well-being, stating, “Health is wealth, and as a company, we prioritize the health of our workers.”
He highlighted that Qualiplast has an in-house clinic to attend to the medical needs of its employees, reinforcing the company’s commitment to their well-being. He encouraged staff members to make their health a priority and seek medical attention when necessary.
The Principal Biomedical Scientist at the 37 Military Hospital Blood Bank, Major Peter Kwame Awuah Kwarteng, praised the initiative, emphasizing the critical need for a continuous supply of blood, especially during emergencies such as accidents and medical procedures.
Major Kwarteng reassured the public that the donated blood would undergo thorough screening for infections and diseases before being used, ensuring its safety for transfusions. He also dispelled myths surrounding blood donation, encouraging eligible individuals to donate regularly.
As part of its mission to commemorate its 50th anniversary, Qualiplast has organized a series of activities, including a float and clean-up exercise, a donation to an orphanage, inter-departmental games, and a grand dinner dance and award night.
