Qualiplast Limited have donated blood to the blood bank of the 37 Military Hospital.
The pioneer plastic packaging and manufacturing company last Saturday organised its maiden blood donation exercise where staff and management took turns to donate blood to stock the blood bank.
The exercise, which was held on the theme: ‘Donate blood, save lives’ was undertaken in partnership with the 37 Military Hospital. It was part of activities to mark the celebration of Qualiplast’s 42nd anniversary.
The Human Resource Manager of Qualiplast, Mr Fred Ohene Omane, said the company was not only concerned about manufacturing plastics to make profit but also, the plight of the numerous people who needed blood to survive.
“This exercise, we hope, will save the lives of women in labour, patients undergoing various surgical operations and accident victims,” he said in a post-event interview.
The Deputy Head of Department of the 37 Military Blood Bank, Capt. Nana Yaa Snyper, expressed the department’s appreciation to the staff and management of Qualiplast Ltd.
